General

High school and college students, and adults in their twenties and thirties — many of them AAPI, BIPOC, queer, children of immigrants, or working in healthcare, tech, or creative fields — navigating anxiety, burnout, identity, relationships, and change.
Yes, we work with adolescents as well as adults. If you're a parent reaching out on behalf of a teenager, feel free to get in touch. We can talk through whether it would be a good fit.
We work with adolescents (13 and up) and adults in individual therapy. Couples and group therapy aren't available yet. For couples, family therapy, or younger children, we're glad to point you toward someone who specializes in that work.
We don't offer crisis or after-hours care, medication management, or psychological or ADHD testing, and all sessions are online rather than in person. If you need one of these, we're glad to point you toward someone who can help. If you're in crisis, call or text 988 or call 911.
We welcome referrals from therapists, doctors, schools, and community organizations. Visit our referral page or email info@liumentalhealth.com. Please leave identifying clinical details out of email.

Appointments & Scheduling

You can book directly through our Headway profile, or email us at info@liumentalhealth.com with a brief intro. You can also text (917) 809-8067 to schedule your appointment.
Yes — we're currently accepting new clients in New York and Florida. You can book a first intake session directly through Headway or email us at info@liumentalhealth.com.
Yes. We offer free 15-minute consultations, which you can book on our online scheduling page. You're also welcome to text (917) 809-8067 with any questions before you book.
The first session is an intake, billed at the standard rate. It involves a lot of information gathering: we'll talk about what brought you in, your background, and your goals, and we'll go through some clinical assessments and screenings. You'll also have space to ask your therapist questions. There's no pressure to commit beyond that session. And if you don't think we're the right fit for you, no worries — we're happy to offer referrals to someone who would be.
Our replies sometimes land in spam or promotions folders, so check there first. If you still haven't heard from us after a couple of business days, text (917) 809-8067 and we'll follow up.
We ask for at least 48 hours notice to cancel or reschedule. Late cancellations and no-shows are charged the full session fee.

Sessions & Telehealth

Standard sessions are 50 minutes. Extended 90-minute sessions and 3-hour EMDR intensives are also available — see the Fees page for details.
Most clients start weekly. As you progress, we may shift to biweekly. We'll figure out the right cadence together based on your goals.
It depends on what you're working on. Some people find real relief in a few months; others benefit from longer-term work. We'll check in regularly on how things are going.
Our practice is fully virtual, so all sessions happen over secure video. It means we can meet from wherever you are in New York or Florida, without the commute.
You'll get a link to a secure, HIPAA-compliant video session. You just need a private space, a stable internet connection, and a device with a camera and mic.
You'll need to be physically in a state where we're licensed — New York or Florida — at the time of our session. If you're travelling outside those states, we can reschedule for when you're back.

Current session fees are listed on our Fees & Insurance page. With in-network insurance, you typically pay only your plan's copay.

With in-network insurance you pay only your plan's copay or cost-share, which is typically much less than the full session rate. Billing runs through Headway.
We offer a sliding scale rate for those who qualify. Sliding scale spots are open right now for clients located in New York. Sessions are $30–$80, and you choose what you can pay within that range. Email us or send a note through the contact form to ask about one.
Yes. We can provide a superbill you can submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement. Check your plan details for what's covered.

Specialties & Languages

Yes — EMDR is one of our core specialties, provided by EMDR-trained clinicians. If you're interested in EMDR as part of your work with us, mention it when you reach out and we'll make sure you're matched accordingly.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based therapy designed to help you process distressing memories that feel stuck, the ones that still show up in your body or reactions even when you think you've moved on. You don't have to relive everything to heal from it. EMDR helps your nervous system do what it was always trying to do: process, integrate, and move forward.
Yes. We understand what it means to move between worlds, and how much it matters to be understood in the fullness of who you are. Your culture, your history, your relationships. All of it is welcome here.
Yes. We offer full sessions in Mandarin as well as English, for clients located in New York. Many people also move between languages to find the right words for a feeling, and you are welcome to do that here. We can also support you in bringing Cantonese or Toisanese into the work.
