Therapists who take Oscar

If you bought an Oscar plan on NY State of Health, you can see us for your copay. Oscar's mental health benefit runs through Optum, and we are in-network with Optum.

Oscar is the plan many freelancers, artists, gig workers, and self-employed New Yorkers end up with, and a growing number of small employers offer it too. Mental health runs through Optum, so booking with us works the same as any UnitedHealthcare plan.

Oscar plans vary a lot in cost sharing. Bronze plans usually have a deductible before therapy is covered, while Silver and Gold plans more often have a flat copay. Headway shows your estimate before you confirm, or you can text us a photo of your card and we will check.

Open enrollment on NY State of Health runs from November 1 to January 31. If you are choosing a plan and want to keep seeing us, check that its mental health benefit runs through Optum, or feel free to ask us before you pick.

  • Oscar Secure and other low-cost tiers, subject to your deductible

  • No referral needed for in-network therapy

Who you'll see

Oscar plans are seen by Tina Liu, LMHC-D, for clients located in New York or Florida. If her calendar is full, we will let you know the next opening or offer our sliding scale with Laila Siddiqui, MHC-I, for clients in New York.

How to book

Open Tina's Headway profile, pick a time, and enter your insurance details. Headway checks your coverage and shows an estimate of what you will pay per session before you confirm. Booking takes about five minutes.

If your plan turns out to be out of network

The full rate is $200 per 50-minute session, and we provide a superbill you can submit to your insurer for possible reimbursement. If cost is the barrier, ask about our sliding scale.

Do you take Oscar plans from the marketplace?

Yes. Oscar's mental health benefit runs through Optum, and we are in-network with Optum in New York and Florida. Marketplace and employer Oscar plans both work.

I have a Bronze plan with a big deductible. What will therapy cost?

Until your deductible is met you pay the plan's contracted rate for the session, which is usually well under the $200 self-pay rate. After that, your coinsurance or copay applies. Headway shows the exact estimate before you book.

Can you help me choose a plan during open enrollment?

We cannot advise on plans, but we can tell you which plans we are in-network with. For therapy with us, Oscar, Oxford, UnitedHealthcare, and Aetna plans all work.
