Startup life can ask for everything: layoff rumors, a manager who has never managed before, equity you cannot spend, and sometimes a visa that depends on the job. Therapy is an hour of the week that belongs to you, not to the company calendar.
Most New York startups buy health insurance through a PEO. Justworks puts New York groups on Aetna; TriNet and Rippling offer Aetna, UnitedHealthcare, and Oxford options. We are in-network with all of them, so your copay is usually all you pay, and billing runs through Headway.
Many of our clients in tech are children of immigrants, international employees on a visa, or the first in their family to earn this kind of salary and the first to feel this kind of pressure. We work with the whole picture, not only what happens at work.

You do not have to wait for the next reorg to take care of yourself.
Feel free to text us a photo of your insurance card, or check on Headway. If your company is on Justworks, your plan is usually an Aetna New York plan, which we accept. Oxford, UnitedHealthcare, and Oscar plans through other PEOs work the same way.
Open Tina's Headway profile, pick a time, and enter your insurance details. Headway checks your coverage and shows an estimate of what you will pay per session before you confirm. Booking takes about five minutes.
Claims go to your insurer, not to your company. Your employer sees no record of your sessions or diagnoses. If you would rather not use insurance at all, the self-pay rate is $200, and we provide superbills.
The full rate is $200 per 50-minute session, and we provide a superbill you can submit to your insurer for possible reimbursement. If cost is the barrier, ask about our sliding scale.
My company uses Justworks. Am I covered?
Justworks enrolls New York companies in Aetna plans, and we are in-network with Aetna in New York. If your card says Aetna, you are covered for your plan's copay. If it says UnitedHealthcare, we accept that too.
Does my employer find out if I go to therapy?
No. Insurance claims are processed by the insurer under federal privacy law, and your employer receives no information about your visits or diagnoses.
I'm on a visa and worried about my job. Can therapy help with that?
Yes. Visa-dependent employment is a specific kind of stress, and many of our clients are international employees or children of immigrants. We cannot change the immigration system, but we can help you carry the stress, make decisions, and sleep better.
